[Guide] Editing Interface

Programs Needed.

 

- MyWarCraftStudio

 

- Photoshop or equivilant

 

- BLP Converter: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QE1SVE0I

 

 

 

 

 

 

Guide.

 

1. Open up Mywarcraftstudio.

 

2. Open Locale-enGB.MPQ.

3. Under Interface you will find many choices; from editing your ingame Cursor to the loading bar. (example of Cursor)

4. click on the blp you wish to edit, and extract to your desktop.

 

 

5. Drag the .blp file onto the downloaded converter, which will convert the format to PNG.

6. This can then be edited in photoshop acordingly.

when complete, drag the edited .PNG file back onto the converter to revert it back to .BLP.

 

 

7. put the new edited .blp file and put it in a folder called Interface, with a subfolder named according to where the edit chosen was found.

8. Open up Mywarcraftstudio and click on Pack, Create new MPQ.

 

9. save it as patch-X.MPQ and import the interface folder.

 

10. save and close.

 

11. Put the MPQ in data folder and enjoy your new visual changes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

(As a seperate example i edited the faction icons found @

interface----> GLUES----> CHARACTERCREATE.)

 

This is meerly to show what can be done, hopefully you can do better

can you edit the map with this and put your own city?

prolly you can but it would need a lot of work, since city textures are hard to work and also when you try to enter the city either your client will crash or you will get dc'ed
